The Mission Chronograph

Hartwig Balke, one of the founders of Towson Watch Company

A signature line of professional-grade timepieces inspired by our original space-watch worn by NASA astronauts. Since the dawn of the new millennium, the Mission Chronograph has been a cornerstone of our collections, elevating Towson Watch Company to its esteemed status as a premier American watch brand.

STS-99 Chronometer: Made exclusively for select retailers in 2010, the STS-99 Chronometer pays homage to the historic watch worn by NASA astronaut Gerhard Thiele on his space mission five years prior. Limited to 100 timepieces in silver or black, this inaugural edition was handcrafted with the same specifications and technical requirements as Commander Thiele’s watch. Executed with meticulous attention to detail by master watchmakers, featuring the TWC initials on the dial and powered by a COSC-certified Caliber 7750 movement regulated by Hartwig Balke and decorated by Jochen Benzinger.

Mission I (Ref. M250): Launched in 2015, the Mission I represents a refined evolution of the STS-99 Chronometer. Designed for discerning collectors and business professionals, this timepiece boasts a high-polish stainless steel case with coined detailing around its bezel, and an elegant guilloche-style pattern on the dial with rhodium-plated diamond markers replacing the former printed roman numerals. The iconic TWC Shield logo is proudly stamped at 3:00, celebrating the brand’s heritage. Each watch is individually numbered on the case-back (No.001 - No.250) with the M250 reference number.

Mission II (Ref. M250-2): Unveiled in 2020 exclusively for direct-to-consumer release, the Mission II builds upon the legacy of its predecessors with a redesigned case featuring satin finishes and crown-guards. The introduction of our specialty carbon-guilloche style adds depth and detail to the dial, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Powered by the same Caliber 7750 movement as the STS-99 Chronometer, the Mission II is offered in silver or black dials, each limited to 100 timepieces. Each watch is uniquely numbered on the case-back (No.001 - No.250) with the M250-2 reference number.
