For collectors exploring Towson's archives, the Mission chronograph traces its lineage to the STS‑99 Chronometer that TWC co‑founder Hartwig Balke built for a NASA astronaut in the 1990s. The modern Mission retains the professional‑grade architecture and Valjoux/ETA 7750 automatic movement of the flight‑qualified original while offering a choice of dials and straps. Assembled and regulated in Maryland from Swiss and German components, this chronograph encapsulates our expertise in designing robust instruments for extreme environments and commemorates TWC’s role in American spaceflight history.

The Mission Chronograph is powered by a highest-grade ETA Caliber 7750 automatic movement, regulated to chronometer-grade accuracy and adjusted to five positions by Towson Watchmakers. Featuring 25 jewels, a Nivarox hairspring, glucydur balance and an Incabloc shock absorption system. This self-winding movement has a power reserve of 48 hours and frequency of 28.800A/h. It is decorated in-house with blued screws, rhodium-plating, perlage, brand engraving, and geneva stripes. Seen through the sapphire crystal exhibition case-back.
A 42mm stainless-steel case houses our signature Carbon Guilloché dial adorned with rhodium-plated diamond hour-markers, spade-shaped hands, and sub-dial dividers. The TWC Shield is stamped on the dial in red, white, and blue to celebrate American watchmaking and our patriotic heritage.
The chronograph offers three elapsed counting functions for minutes, hours, and seconds. Start/stop and reset pushers are positioned on the side of the case. They are high-polished along with the lugs and trimming around the sapphire crystal. While the rest of the case is satin-finished, this variety of surface treatment elevates the formal appeal of this watch. The complex complication-set, which also includes a date window and tachymeter for tracking average speed, seamlessly blends with the formal intricacies of the dial, case and strap. This watch combines the best of traditional handmade watchmaking with Swiss precision and professional-grade durability.
