An introduction to premier American watchmaking for officers, rising professionals and early collectors. Celebrating the military backbone of the Chesapeake Region with a horological play on the Army vs. Navy rivalry. Designed to be worn with formal service uniforms and built to endure rough conditions in the field. Exhibiting a raw finish, shape and feel. A palette that boasts its flavorful pantones when asked for. Powered by an automatic movement encased in 40mm stainless steel. Suiting the needs of an entry-level enthusiast with sophisticated taste and a sports-oriented lifestyle. Towson Watch Company dedicates this purpose-built instrument to our local academy graduates and patriotic collectors across the nation.

Screwed-down bezel with coined grip for easy cleaning. Push-pull crown with quickset function for the date. Crown guards ensure lasting durability and seasonal accuracy. Flat sapphire crystal exhibition back display is screwed down with stainless steel border bearing important customer information such as the Reference No., Serial No., 5 ATM depth rating, country of manufacturer (USA) and manufacturer's name. To ensure water-resistance, keep the crown in position zero.

Olive Green or Navy Blue Dial featuring luminous hour markers and hands with Arabic numerals and date-window at 3 o’clock. All functions of the movement were deliberately kept on the dial to conform with its utilitarian intentions. Contrasting inhouse pantones were used for the hands and hour indicators. Both dials share the same cliches, marked with their respective model name in the center. The 24-hour dial is lightly engine turned while the outer 12-hour scale is blasted. Enclosed in domed scratch-resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

The RECRUIT vs CADET is our co-founder’s proud swan-song. Hartwig Balke designed this line of field watches to pass down his unique approach to the new generation of TWC horologists and collectors. Exposing more enthusiasts and everyday wearers to the offerings developed here in Baltimore, Maryland.
A Towson Watch is a purpose-built instrument for its respective user. Made for trainees in the military seeking an affordable American-made mechanical timepiece.

The RECRUIT & CADET are tools and were designed as such. All functions were enhanced on the dial for seasonal timekeeping in the field. This includes a date window, 24-hour scale, lume-filled markers and numerals. Readability and ease-of-operation are the foundations for this utilitarian-based language. Hartwig Balke built upon this thesis of design with Ref. CR250. Passing the same principles down to our new watchmakers throughout the process.
